Adelaide’s very first medical nail spa and an innovative start-up hoping to use technology to streamline the justice process have won Perks’ inaugural Business Boost Awards.

Announced last night at a cocktail party held at Electra House, each business will receive $15,000 worth of professional services tailored to their business needs along with a $5,000 cash element for the Start-Up category.

The Perks Business Boost Awards was created to assist start-ups and established businesses across all sectors and industries with almost 100 high-calibre entries received across both categories.

Tung Tran impressed judges with his innovative Start-Up idea, MyEvidence, which is designed to enhance investigations through intuitive technology in order to streamline the justice process and maximize successful prosecutions.

The Business Growth category winners were MediPedi Nail Spa’s Georgina Jamieson and Tom Baker. MediPedi is Adelaide’s first Medical nail spa, based in Unley, which for the first time combines specialised podiatry services with a pampering nail spa.

Perks Managing Director Mark Roderick said they were blown away by the number of impressive submissions and it was a difficult task for the judges to narrow the list down to just nine finalists and the two overall winners.

“Our State is full of bright ideas and young businesses ready to push the boundaries and shine. We are so proud to be able to provide invaluable support to the two winners through professional services tailored to their specific business needs,” he said.

“We congratulate Tung and Georgina on their efforts to excite all members of the judging panel with their entrepreneurial flair and are looking forward to working alongside them to help them grow.”

Both Tung and Georgina will receive professional services tailored to their business needs from budgeting, forecasting and finance to human resource management, business or start-up advisory supplied by Perks and public relations and graphic design supplied by Michels Warren PR and China Shop Graphic Design. In addition, Tung will receive $5,000 cash to use to bring MyEvidence to life.
